Cancellation policy

We understand plans change. This policy explains what happens if you need to cancel a confirmed booking with Sunlit Villas. It forms part of, and should be read alongside, our Terms & Conditions of Booking.

Free cancellation window

If you cancel within 48 hours of placing your booking, you'll receive a full refund — provided your arrival date is more than 48 hours away. This does not apply to last-minute bookings made within 48 hours of check-in, which are non-refundable from the moment they are placed.

Cancelling after the free window

The 30% deposit is non-refundable once the free cancellation window has passed. Beyond that:

• Before your balance due date — you forfeit the 30% deposit only; any balance already paid is refunded.
• On or after your balance due date (or if the balance is not paid on time) — the full rental cost is payable and no refund is due.

Your balance due date is shown on your booking confirmation and on your booking page.

How to cancel

To cancel, use the Cancel this booking button on your booking page — the link is in your confirmation email — or notify Sunlit Villas in writing by email. You do not need an account, and you do not need to contact the property owner. Your cancellation takes effect from the moment we receive it, and your booking page shows what it refunds before you confirm. We strongly recommend taking out travel insurance to cover cancellation.

Refundable security deposit

The €250 refundable security deposit is separate from the rental cost. It is returned to you within 7 days of checkout, subject to no damage or breach of the house rules.

Cancellation by the property owner

In the unlikely event the owner must cancel your reservation, we will offer you an alternative property (with any difference in price payable or refundable as appropriate) or a full refund of all monies paid. No further compensation is payable.
